When I was diagnosed with Graves’ Disease, also a thyroid autoimmune condition, I was surprised at how few options my doctor had to offer. I wanted to find ways to improve my health by addressing the underlying autoimmune condition that was causing the attack on my thyroid.
As a registered dietitian nutritionist I started by changing what I was eating and I studied integrative and functional nutrition. By focusing on my overall health and the root causes of the autoimmunity, I found solutions that brought my health and my thyroid back into balance.
